Winemaker’s Notes and The Wine! This ideal 50/50 blend of two vintages of a rare black variation of Muscat Hamberg grape wine, fortified with 80 proof wine brandy, has created an extraordinary dessert wine. 2017 was an ideal growing season in the Sierra Foothills and 2018 started off with frost but had an extended growing season that yielded another excellent vintage. These two vintages both produced excellent fruit, but the wines have different and exceptionally complimentary virtues. This sweet, rich, ripe, fortified dessert wine is more like a rich nectar or an “American port”. A dried-fig, vanilla, raisin and milk chocolate bouquet and a complex experience on the palate of raisin, cocoa, walnut, vanilla and honey. It is an Experience! Indulge!
