2013 Edith's Block Barbera Magnum!
The first Edith's bottling of our Barbera!
Winemaker’s Notes: 2013 was another excellent growing season for the Langman Estate Winery area of the Sierra Foothills in California. It was a very long, dry summer with excellent diurnal temperature changes that allowed the fruit to mature very evenly over the 7+ month growing season that extended harvest into October. This is a vintage of special wines.
The Wine! Our French clone of this Italian varietal on top of American rootstock that is planted in our 2,400 elevation, south facing, crushed granite soil vineyard in the Sierra Foothills in California, gifts us annually with a very special example of this varietal. Vincent Henry Langman was our patriarch and this is his wine! A “Berry Basket” bouquet with vanilla, pancake, saddle leather and dark cherry on the nose. This perfectly balanced, full bodied, extra-long finishing wine has a luscious palate of black cherry, blackberry and caramel. It Begins!
